He still hears my prayer and I will never be alone I don't know how I will make it on my ownīut the One who said I will never be forsaken Sometimes it seems that I have been forgotten To forgive the past and bring hope for what's to come We can't forget the One who came before us Sometimes it seems the world's unraveling around us I think if there's a statement we want to make right now, it's this one. As we began to pull songs for this album, we played this one and people really gravitated towards it. Later, when we were looking for a really strong Christian anthem, Scott Williamson and I began working again on this song and completely rewrote it all, but kept the title.
I wrote the rest of the song and played it for the band, but it didn't really fit for us at the time. My aunt Donna wrote a lyric for a song called 'It's Still the Cross' and gave it to me two years ago. After all the years we've been together and everything we've been through, this is still what it's all about. All you have got to do is do your best," She said. "All you've gtta do is do your best," A female voice sang. You coukd find yourself with your heart's desire You coukd end up with your heart's desire You could end up with your heart's desire if not at least you did your best. Then for some reason I sang one of my own called Do Your Best. When I got to The Corner there was a small crowd outside the bakers. "I'm going to the corner," I said and walked out the back door. "Yes because if you are perfect then they will not turn as there is nothing they would be able to teach you," Ma said. Two: you are singing an unique song and Three: You're gonna he playing the drums," Ma explained. They are gonna want to put you in thw blinds because one: you have a great voice. And then those who get through that audition will have to face four supperstar coaches who we do not k.ow yet and then that 120 will be whittled down to 48," I said.
"Mum don't get too excited they're gonna whittle that 1000 down to 120. There were 30,000 people and they put 1000 in for the next audition," Ma said. "You've gotten through to the second audition. "You've gotten through to the next audition!" Ma squeeled. I ran upstairs and got my jacket and my guitar then ran back downstairs and past Ma. "I'm gonna go to the corner," I announced. I bunched them all up and put them on the table. I had finished Ma's hair and went up to get the letter that was posted. Hair to her was mpre important than some stupid letter which probably contained this month's bills. We heard a letter pop through the letter box. It was a couple of weeks later and i was sat straightening my Ma's hair. I started to play the backing and then filled in the drums. They asked for my details even though they had them on a sheet. When at long last I was called in I sat down at my drums and greeted the two judges. In all truth I was pacing back and forward like a pendulant. No one else had drummed at an audition for The Voice UK before. They said a drum kit will be provided for me.
